Borage seed oil has a long history of being appreciated as a special, delicate oil. Pressed slowly and handled with care, it keeps its natural character, bright, green, and lively. This is not an oil made in a hurry. It is an oil made with patience.
Borage oil is naturally known for its gamma linolenic acid, often called GLA, along with its naturally occurring omega fatty acids. When the oil is pressed slowly and without heat, it keeps this delicate structure and natural balance.
This oil is made from raw borage seeds sourced from certified organic, non GMO, kosher farms. Pressed only once and never refined, it remains raw, unrefined, food grade, and single ingredient, with nothing added and nothing removed.
Most industrial producers use metal expellers, aggressive grinding, and heat to speed up production and increase yield. Some producers also use chemical extraction. These methods can damage delicate oils.
At Nature Nurtures, we do not use extraction. We press. Borage seeds are slowly pressed inside our Caprolon PRESS using a non metal, non wood process, keeping temperatures under 28 to 30°C so the oil remains close to its natural state. The oil is bottled in glass, never plastic.
Every bottle begins in Seattle, USA, where the seeds are slowly pressed in small batches. The oil is pressed only once and handled carefully from seed to bottle.
Many people use borage oil in small amounts, a spoon, a drizzle into food, or mixed into dressings. It has a distinctive green taste and a feeling of freshness that makes it very different from common cooking oils.
Borage oil is also one of those oils most people have never tried before, which makes it a very interesting and thoughtful gift. Something new, something rare, something made with care.
Free from preservatives, artificial flavors, additives, and trans fats, and made without solvents, deodorization, or high heat processing, this oil stays close to what the seed naturally gives.
We believe oil should not be rushed. Seeds, pressure, patience, and care. That is how real oil is made.
At Nature Nurtures, everything is pressed slowly, in small batches, and handled the way we would make it for our own table. That is the philosophy behind everything we make.
